CrystalDiffract 3.0 Launched
A Revolution in Powder Diffraction Analysis,
100% New - with Professional Edition Features

CrystalDiffract 3.0 Pro 9 January 2000 CrystalDiffract version 3.0.5 is now shipping - with a free update available from this site.

CrystalDiffract 3 bears little resemblance to previous versions. Indeed, it is a completely new program, sharing absolutely no code with any previous version, having been rewritten, line-by-line, using the latest compilers and taking full advantage of the very latest system software developments.

CrystalDiffract 3.0 features a stylish new interface with easy-to-use window toolbars, context-sensitive info bars that drop down when required, plus handy sidebar "tabs" which open the cool new "Parameter" and "History" lists.

The Parameter List gives users unprecedented, real-time control over all aspects of the diffraction experiment. You can experiment with peak widths, introduce structural distortions, change site occupancies, edit phase proportions or modify peak profiles - and see the diffraction pattern change in real time! This all serves to de-mystify diffraction, and should revolutionize the way in which diffraction is taught.

The History List makes it possible to quickly browse through multiple structures, comparing diffraction patterns in the same window. Plus, CrystalDiffract 3 supports system-level "drag-and-drop", allowing you to drop whole lists of files into the History List, for future reference.

Perhaps the most important changes to CrystalDiffract come when the full, Professional Edition features are unlocked. CrystalDiffract "Pro" is a powerful diffraction analysis tool, allowing you to compare observed experimental data with simulated data - in the same window. You can easily index patterns, spot impurities or structural anomalies, and even display an observed-minus-calculated "residual" function. CrystalDiffract Pro also lets you simulate mixtures, with up to 10 components; simulate energy-dispersive or time-of-flight diffraction techniques and much, much more...
