2 August 2004. CrystalMaker Software Ltd is pleased to announce
the immediately availability of version 6.3.7 of their flagship
CrystalMaker program, featuring expanded element tables and CPK color
support.
Recent CrystalMaker versions have provided a whole slew of new features, as well as
some minor bug fixes - and free updates
are available to all current-version users.
Perhaps the most important new feature for many users
is the greatly expanded range of atomic radii now available, in the form of
preset "Element Tables". New sets for atomic, ionic, covalent, Van-der-Waals radii
are provided - using the standard CPK colour set. In addition, the existing,
default Shannon & Prewitt "Crystal" radii set has been expanded to cover all
the elements up to atomic number 96.
CrystalMaker 6.3.6 introduced three new keyboard shortcuts, contextual
menu support for the Overview Window, a new "Release Notes" help page,
improved plotting of dashed bonds and "hidden" polyhedral edges, plus
a number of bug fixes.
Version 6.3.7 provides more flexibility in the display of ball-and-stick
plots, with the possibility of smaller atom sizes, improved display
of information "subtitles" in the Graphics Window and the addition of
more element data for VFI and CSD element tables.
To coincide with the release of our new Element Tables, we have made available a
series of high-resolution "Periodic Table" element charts, which can be
downloaded from an interactive tutorial
on Atomic Radii (requires JavaScript).
