12 April 2005. CrystalMaker Software Ltd has today launched
a new, cross-platform software upgrade scheme. Customers who already
have a CrystalMaker licence on the Mac platform, can now obtain
a full Windows XP version - for just the cost of an upgrade.
Keeping the Family Together
CrystalMaker 1.0 for Windows XP is based on our existing
CrystalMaker 6 for Mac OS X, and the two programs have similar
funtionality. Our aim with the cross-platform upgrade scheme
is not to encourage Mac users to migrate to Windows;
we remain fully committed to Mac OS X and will continue to
devote substantial resources to the platform. The cross-platform
scheme is designed to make easier for users who have to work
with Windows XP, to be able to continue using CrystalMaker.
We have extended the CrystalMaker standard upgrade scheme
to cover both version-version upgrades on the same platform
(e.g., upgrading from CrystalMaker-2-for-Mac to
CrystalMaker-6-for-Mac) and cross-platform upgrades.
Users with any version of CrystalMaker on a particular
platform can now obtain the latest version of CrystalMaker
on the other platform, for a fixed - and heavily discounted -
upgrade price. This works two ways: existing Mac users can
obtain the Windows version at a discount; and existing
Windows users can obtain the latest Mac version, also at a
discount!
