5 April 2005. CrystalMaker Software Ltd is delighted to announce the immediate availability of CrystalMaker 1.0 for Windows: a brand new Windows XP program, inspired by their award-winning crystal structures visualization software for Mac.
Designed for Windows XP
logo CrystalMaker 1.0 for Windows builds on our 10 years of experience developing software for the Macintosh platform. We have now built a brand-new application, designed from scratch to take full advantage of the very-latest Microsoft XP operating system - without the constraints of backwards-compatibly legacy code.

Massively Re-engineered
CrystalMaker for Windows includes a major new engine architecture, designed to permit the visualization of truly massive structures (up to 2 billion atoms), with highly-efficient use of dynamical memory, high-speed "Turbo Bonds" bond and coordination search algorithms, and unlimited potential for visualizing bonding and polyhedral geometries. All this comes with our proven record of designing elegant and user-friendly interfaces.

Massive structures, with millions of atoms can now be visualized - ideal for computer simulation of materials behaviour (left). An added benefit is that large polyhedra can now easily be generated, as for the zeolite rho structure (right).

Major changes introduced in CrystalMaker 1.0 for Windows (compared with CrystalMaker 6.3 for Mac OS X):
  • Massive structures visualization, with unlimited (*) numbers of atoms, bonds and polyhedra
  • Unlimited (*) numbers of bonds (and atom vectors) per atom
  • Massive polyhedral geometries - unlimited(*) numbers of vertices and faces
  • Reduced memory requirements, thanks to efficient use of dynamical memory
  • Turbo-bonds algorithm provides orders of magnitude faster bond generation
  • Optimize Range commands have been rewritten, allowing rapid viewing of molecular units within complex crystals
  • Faster program execution: manipulation and structure rotation is approximately 10% faster
  • High-Resolution TIFF Graphics. CrystalMaker 1.0 for Windows supports the export of user-defined, high-resolution graphics in a wide range of formats including TIFF, JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG.
